About Our Progressive Youth Society
Nurturing Youth, Building Communities
Founded on 13th January 1997, the Progressive Youth Society (Regd.), Jammu and Kashmir India is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering rural communities through education, cultural exchange, environmental awareness, sports, and social welfare initiatives.
The Society was established under the leadership of Mr. Manoj Kumar Nishchint, who envisioned creating a platform for rural youth to explore their potential and contribute meaningfully to society. Over the years, we have collaborated with respected institutions and government bodies such as WWF, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, J&K State Social Welfare Board, Nehru Yuva Kendra, and the Ministry of Social Justice.
- Environmental Awareness – drives, rallies, cleanliness campaigns, and eco-education.
- Cultural & Literary Promotion – folk arts, theatre, music, debates, and creative writing.
- Sports & Youth Development – sports meets, tournaments, and youth leadership programs.
- Social Welfare & Awareness – health, women empowerment, and eradication of social evils.
- Skill Development – vocational training and workshops for rural self-reliance.
